A Venue Owner's Guide to Installing and Managing Digital Screens
By YAXI TV Editorial Team · · Updated · 12 min read
Getting screens installed in your venue is just the beginning. This guide covers hardware selection, placement strategy, connectivity requirements, and the management practices that keep screens running reliably at scale.
Hardware Basics
YAXI TV works with Android TV devices and Amazon Fire TV Sticks. Commercial-grade displays are preferred for venues with extended operating hours (16+ hours per day). Consumer TVs work for lower-traffic or part-time use cases. Screen size should be matched to viewing distance: 55" for distances up to 15 feet, 75"+ for distances beyond 20 feet.
Screen Placement Strategy
- Place screens at eye level or slightly above, angled toward the audience
- Avoid placement behind strong light sources (windows, direct sunlight) that cause glare
- High-traffic zones: entry, waiting areas, point-of-sale — not back hallways
- For bars and restaurants, multiple smaller screens beat one large screen in a corner
Connectivity Requirements
Each screen requires a stable internet connection: minimum 10 Mbps download recommended. Wi-Fi works for most content; wired Ethernet is preferred for high-definition video and critical uptime requirements. Test connectivity at the exact screen location — not just at the router.
Scaling to Multiple Screens
YAXI TV's cloud dashboard lets you manage all screens from a single login. Group screens by location or content zone. Use scheduling rules to push the right content to each screen without manual intervention at each location.
